Companies Facebook vs. Google+

We have been asked to compare 2 companies with a social media presence on Facebook and Google+.  It was really hard to find companies that actually post to their google+ account. I really think Google+ has untapped potential. For my 2 companies I choose Maurices and Wal-Mart. Maurices The one thing that stands out to me is that Maurices Facebook page has comments and even some interaction whereas, the google+ page has none. The ads aren't the exact same add but they are basically the same principal.  They of course are a clothing store and so all of their ads are cute clothes and a deal or the cost of the item. Wal-Mart While Wal-Mart does have a Google+ page it is out of date by about 1 yr.  The ads seem to run about the same and the comment section is a great place if you need a good chuckle.  Wal-Mart seems to have teams that watch their pages and respond to problems and requests. Facebook Vs. Twitter

For my Social Media and Analytics class we have used Facebook and Twitter .  I think both platforms have pros and cons and the fact that they are linkable gives you the best of both worlds. Facebook is by far the platform that is used the most. The statistics tell the story for me. With more users on Facebook it gives people access to most of their friends and family.  I think it is a great way to stay in touch with family and what's going on with your friends.  Because Facebook has such a lead on Twitter in users it gives it a huge advantage. I never bothered to give twitter much of a try because i am content with Facebook and i don't really want to keep up with two platforms.  I can say i have had fun with Twitter. I think that the 140 word limit makes people have to be more creative to in saying what they want to say. I've really enjoyed playing around with the hashtags.
